    June 13/14 and 20/21 My studio is open to visitors. Emma Aldridge joins me again and we are joined by another painter Lisa Royle. Mark the dates and visit us. We are one of 17 studios open for 2 weekends around Oswestry and the borders. No obligation to buy. Meet up with friends and enjoy a refreshment, with donations to local charities.

Today I got to visit @open.ballet to observe and sketch a movement workshop hosted by 2 deaf dancers @_anna_seymour_ and @mirabellehaddon Joined by local actors, dancers and performing artists as well as some for the uk. Translations were from Kazakh/Russian/English and BSL. Smiles were out and the movements individually, in pairs and as a group were such a joy to draw. I am so looking forward to catching ‘After glow’, dance performance tomorrow night, part of Allvalidation Festival, Almaty. A festival highlighting neurodiversity and disabilities in the performing arts. A morning walk, I tried to remember to stroll as it’s hot here. Headed for an art gallery and stopped to sketch the tree lined walkways that weave through the city. Littered with shady seating and so many playgrounds, and a soundtrack of birdso
A morning walk, I tried to remember to stroll as it’s hot here. Headed for an art gallery and stopped to sketch the tree lined walkways that weave through the city. Littered with shady seating and so many playgrounds, and a soundtrack of birdsong. The first room at the Museum of Art after Kasteev, had me welling up, such exquisite textiles, I worked my way slowly around the room, making notes and just looking in awe. They also had a handling table, I was so grateful for that. Then used the local app to get a taxi to Transforma theatre for the 3 o’clock performance of A message for the future, by Cresendorious Theeatre Company. Some of my sketches of their amazing production, which masterfully entertained both adults and children, engaging with them so effectively with wonderful sensory props. A true feast for the senses. The wonderful planning and Co-ordination from our hosts and partner theatre group has made it all so much easier. I feel so very privileged to be here having this amazing experience. Icing on the cake has to be the company, what a bunch of amazing generous and talented people. I can’t wait to see their shows having heard snippets of preparation meetings and tagged along on prop buying expeditions to the Green bazaar. Two of us checked out the spa and then meet up with 2 more at the Jazz bar, for the most phenomenal live performance.
