A view of the bend in the river, famously depicted by JWM Turner which I sought out after a friend took me to see the sun rise over Richmond Park one winter morning. It was worth it. I took a few quick studies and back in the studio produced five versions of the experience. The tail end of the night and the new rays of the day are evident in this painting. A fleeting moment of change.
