Pre-Christmas SALE
ONLINE SALE of artworks. 20% discounts and FREE P&P
All works on the site will be at a 20% discount for the duration of the weekend sale, with FREE Postage and packaging in the UK. I may well host an event in the studio on the Sunday afternoon, so make sure you subscribe to be the first to hear about it. In the studio you can also get to see the works in progress and view some of those pieces that are just a bit awkward to photograph.
Pop up exhibition and artists talk
Join us for an afternoon of artists talks and exhibition in the unique and special surroundings of artist in residence studios Stiwdio Maelor. Artists Emma-Jayne Holmes, Molly Brown, Veronica Calarco and Norma Hendrix are joined by writer Nancy Lord to present their work in short presentations of around 10 minutes, after which there will be time to view the art work on show and chat with the artists. There is also the opportunity to spend the morning with Artist-in-Residence, Norma Hendrix. from 10-1 join her workshop “Presence, Perception and Experimentation. £40 per person. Bach Cello concert. Live sketching event for Emma-Jayne Holmes.
An afternoon of Bach Cello performance by James Barralet at the wonderful Black Park Chapel. A beautifully converted chapel hosting live music events. Donations to “Trees of Music”. The voice of the strings is bought out by the bow and since the 1700’s bows have been made form the uniquely resonant brazil wood. Deforestation and over harvesting for bows have bought this uniquely resonant tree to the brink of extinction. I will be captureing the performance with my sketchbook.
Exhibition opening and meet the artist.
All welcome to the opening of the Winter Collection exhibition from artist members of the Borderland Visual Arts. Come along from 2-4pm to meet some of the artists and get first opportunity to purchase any works. There is also on exhibition work from CAN, Cheshire Artists Network, so well worth a visit.
Work on exhibition at Oriel Glasfryn
A beautiful setting within a private residence, which includes access to the garden where refreshments can be purchased and enjoyed to make a pleasant trip out. The gallery hosts 2 exhibitions a year for a selection of artists, within the main house and a permanent gallery space is located within an outbuilding. Open Wednesdays to Sundays, plus Bank Holidays 10-4pm
Summer exhibition at Oriel Plas Glyn-y-weddw
Over 90 artists works selling “off the wall”, to take away immediately. A beautiful old gallery in picturesque gardens and a delicious cafe, by the sea. What more could you want for a trip out. Open Studio
An opportunity to see my wonderful studio located in the garden and over looking the Dee Valley towards Llangollen. Artwork from various periods will be available to view and a good selection of new works on display within the studio. Come and see where and how I work, from sketchbooks, exploration pieces to final framed collections. All work will be available for sale and it’s also a great time to grab bargain. Open 10a.m.-5p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Work on exhibition at Willow
The annual Borderlands Visual Arts Open Studio Event is on during weekends of 10/11 and 17/18 June. This exhibition gives you the opportunity to see all 27 participating artists and a few others. Have a look around, pick up the open studio leaflet to locate the studios that your favoured artists are exhibiting at and you can go visit and meet them. At the Willow gallery there is also a selection of crafts and a lovely cafe for refreshments or something to eat. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays 10-4pm. (And 10-5pm on the Open Studio Weekends)
